New: LUCAS™2

Now electrically powered, the life-saving medical device offers the
most compact, lightweight and portable solution to maintain
circulation in cardiac arrest patients.

The second generation LUCAS™2 builds upon the well-proven LUCAS™1 technology, with a change of driving source from pneumatic to electric. LUCAS™2 operates for 45 minutes on the latest battery technology (with no test-cycles or reconditioning required) and may also be connected to and operated from electricity wall outlets or car outlets. The battery is neatly integrated in the hood, making LUCAS™2 a lightweight and compact device to store and carry.

LUCAS™2 offers operational improvements requested by our customers, i.e. ventilation alerts (30:2 or 8 per minute), a softer start at the initial adjustment to the patient’s chest, and has a quieter operation. The user interface remains very simple with direct access to all operating modes.

Based on positive feedback and experience, LUCAS™2 device design stays the same as to the pneumatic LUCAS™1. The device has been proven to be easy to use, can be applied within seconds and feasible for use in a majority of cardiac arrest patients, both in the out-of-hospital and in-hospital setting.

Clinically, all LUCAS devices are based on the same concept; delivering effective and continuous chest compressions according to the AHA and ERC guidelines; 4-5 cm (1.5-2.0 inches) depth, 100 per minute, a 50/50 duty cycle for compression/decompression with a complete recoil of the chest to allow for cardiac refill between each compression. This has shown to increase circulation to the brain and heart.

LUCAS™1 will be continued to be marketed as a pneumatic alternative.

Please note: LUCAS™ Chest Compression System is available in different versions, with different power solutions. All versions provide chest compressions according to AHA and ERC guidelines. Most publications and studies are done on LUCAS™1.

The pneumatic LUCAS™1 (V1 and V2) are CE marked, and LUCAS™1 (V2) has a 510k clearance for marketing in the US, is approved in Japan and has several international registrations.

The electric LUCAS™2 is CE-marked for sales in Europe, approved in Canada and has a 510k clearance for marketing in the US.
