Jolife is owned by a number of institutional and private investors. The main owners are CapMan (28%), Innovationskapital (20%), LS medcap GmbH (19%)and Tredje AP fonden (8%).
CapMan
CapMan is one of the leading private equity investors in the Nordic countries and manages Nordic buyout, mezzanine, technology, life science and real estate funds with approximately EUR 2.6 billion in total capital. Each investment area has a dedicated team and altogether CapMan employs around 100 people in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo. Established in 1989, CapMan has strong experience as a fund manager and as a partner for investors and entrepreneurs. To date CapMan has made over 150 Nordic investments and over 90 exits. The current portfolio encompasses over 60 companies with an aggregate turnover of approx. EUR 2.5 billion and aggregate personnel of 17,000 people. The latest investments are made in Finnish Maintpartner Oy, Danish ScanJour A/S, Swedish Neoventa AB and Norwegian InfoCare ASA. The portfolio of CapMan’s first private equity real estate fund consists of 22 commercial properties in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The B shares of CapMan Plc have been listed on the Main List of the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 2001.
InnovationsKapital
InnovationsKapital was founded in 1994 and is a private and independent early stage venture capital firm for innovative growth companies. The business, carried out from offices in Gothenburg and Stockholm, is focused on Nordic investments within ICT and Healthcare & Life Sciences – dynamic sectors that are rapidly expanding and where Nordic research plays an important role. To date, more than 55 investments have been made. InnovationsKapital advises four venture capital funds aggregating EUR 317 million in committed capital.
LS medcap GmbH
LS medcap GmbH is a venture capital company specializing in the medical device and biotechnology industries. The focus is on the seed-stage of research based ideas. A dominant part of invested capital is therefore used to support these ideas and transform them into marketable products. Beside direct investment, LS medcap is also founding new start-ups, which includes developing them into full companies with development, manufacturing and sales. LS medcap is also involved in consulting, management support, transfer of business know-how and networking. LS medcap is owned by Lars Sunnanväder.
Tredje AP fonden (Third National Swedish Pension Fund )
Tredje AP fonden is one of five buffer funds within the Swedish pension system. The fund's capital is used to balance temporary deficits that may arise between contributions and disbursements. Their mandate from the Swedish Parliament is unambiguous; to generate the best long-term return at a low level of risk.
